First water change of the year, and it was really a must now. Couldn't hardly see anything through the glass because of all the algea. Also the first cleanup since the Kauderni died beginning of this month. All the values where fine, so just some cleanup needed to be done and a little refill.
One of the things that also needed to be done was to clear some Halimeda Copiosa from around the red mushroom coral. The algea began to overgrow the little mushroom. While clearing it I noticed it had already attached to the rock, so no more worries that it would blow away or anything.
Talking about coral, they all seem to be growing perfectly. Same goes for all the lifeforms actually. Only the peppermint shrimps dont show up as often as they did before, only one is viewable now (dont know if it's the same one each time, but they dont show together anymore).
Im thinking of making some new pictures tomorrow, please be patient for those

A bit later then the idea was, but I took my pictures today. Unfortunatly there was already allot of algea visible, so some may appear a bit unclear. Also decided to use my old camera to make some movies, just for the fun of it. Here is one of them as a result (most fun also). The others can be found in their specific topic.
Could see a peppermint shrimp yesterday, enjoying a spot near the mushroom. I made a picture of it, but it's hard to see him on the picture.
Also the sea anemone is still growing, maybe this weekend we will try to kill it, because I dont think the peppermint shrimps will try to eat it anymore :p
The mushroom is now showing some weird bump on it's foot. This is near the place where it also turned white. Think Im going to check on some forums what the bump is exactly. It looks like it's starting to grow a new mushroom from there.
No big picture of the whole aquarium, because of the algea on the window it wouldnt turn out as nice. Some other highlites however are the following.
For more pictures check the specific pages. Till the next time!

Not much done, just some small things. Added some special food for the algae eaters, a big leaf of green algae. Had to make sure it wouldn't float, so we put it at the bottom underneath some sand. Only reaction so far is that they looked at it in a way like they where saying "What the .... is this, and why is it here in our home".
A bit later we removed some algae from the corals (toadstool and kenia tree). And to make use of the oppertunity we had a good look at the bumps on the toadstool, and it does look like it's two new mushrooms growing from the foot of the big one. Hope this doesn't mean the big one is dying, like some plants do when they get new strings. So this will get a sequal in some way.
Also during cleaning the kenia tree got damaged, it seemed it had attached itself to the rock next to it. Not anymore, since we tried to turn it around, now it is sadly laying flat. I don't expect this to be permanent or damaged it so much it will die now, I think he will recover itself. But we will see in time.

Cleaned the aquarium again, also removed the Caulerpa taxifolia, unfortunatly it went better then expected, so there is none left anymore in the aquarium. Looks a bit empty now without it. There don't seem to be any other strings anywhere, so guess it is the end for them now. The full view shows how it looks without the Caulerpa taxifolia.
If you look closely to the picture you also see some stupid gold fish thing on the left, this is a holder for the algea eater food. Last time we put it in de sand, but that wasn't much of a succes. In the end this didn't turn out much of a succes either, but it was a bit easier to hang in :p
Not much news about the fish, only that the Blue Tang is growing rapidly, he/she is already pretty big compared to how we got him. Ofcourse it looks bigger in the picture, but to give an idea.
Corals are all doing well, the Kenya tree has recoverd itself after the accident last time, and the little mushrooms growing on the bigger one are growing fast.
The buttons are mutliplying also, noticed a new green one on the bottom of the rock, bringing the total at 6.
Not much news on invertebrates, only that the clownsfish have found the anemone more often, especially the male clownsfish is often found in the anemone. Hopefully it will help him grow.
Also tried some nightshots, the results where not as good as hoped, except for the ones that where sharp, they looked really good
Also made two movies from both sides of the aquarium headlining the corals on the sides (mushroom and kenya tree)
And tried to make some better pictures of the inhabitants of the aquarium itself during daylight. Here are the best results from that serie. Of course more pictures and movies can be found in the topics about the inhabitants.
