Back from vacation
Our Kenya tree is the oldest coral in the aquarium, it has been with us for 9 months now and been through so much already. We bought it on a small rock but after some time it attached itself to the big rock behind him as well. Back then it wasn’t a problem yet, but when we started to rebuild after our first Bacterial plague it became difficult to have two rocks attached to one coral. Also the coral had a big blow from the rebuilding and didn’t look very well when we put it back in. After a while we decided to cut off the small rock, which is now a fragment (see later on).
After we caught the Angelfish and had to rebuild a bit the Coral started to grow quickly, guess he liked his new location better. It looks great and healthy again and we are glad he recovered so nicely.

New corals
18 September we bought 5 new corals divided over 3 rocks. One rock has another Kenya tree on it which you can see past this Kenya tree. The rock also has a new Cabbage leather coral on it, and in the picture you can also see the new Xenia and mushrooms.

Name change
Found out that it's not just some Capnella species but it is actually the Capnella Imbricata.

Cleaning november 2010
Almost here for one year now, and been through a lot. But it is doing better each day and is now a big tree again. Unfortunately it has lost its greenish colour.

Happy New Year 2011
Hopefully this year it won't release as many fragments as it has in 2010.

Sold Fragments
Yesterday I have sold some fragments again. A member from the Zeewater Forum voor Nederland en België, called Bikerdick, wanted to buy the last Red Mushroom fragment and some Kenya Tree fragments.
Sold 4 fragments to him, some of them came from this tree. Hope it will stop for a while with producing new frags since I still have 7 left.

A week in the life of…
Thursday I had someone coming over to buy some Kenya Trees. He took 3 from me, so that makes some more room in the aquarium. Unfortunately he doesn’t keep a journal, so no updates on how they are doing.
But we still have a couple in the RSM250, also couple in a shot glass in the RSM250 who hopefully recover, they had been in a bowl without current and light. And every piece I now get has been inserted in the fragtank where they hopefully do well underneath the 15watt 10k Kelvin light.

Made some frags
I just finished a couple of frags for in the fragtank. Cut of a piece of the Kenya Tree from the Red Sea Max which was bothering the nearby buttons and divided the part in 2 parts again.
I also removed 2 parts from two of the Starburst polyp colonies and attached them to rocks using rubber band.
One of the Kenya Trees and one of the Starburst polyps will be traded for 2 urchins later today.
