QUICK STATS
The Kenya Tree Coral, also referred to as a Cauliflower Soft Coral, Nephthea, or Nephthya, is similar to the members of both the Litophytonand Nephthea genera. It lives in a wide range of the Indo-Pacific. It has a thick trunk, like a tree, and many branches giving it an arboreal appearance.
It is not normally considered a threat to hard corals, but may itself be disturbed by their presence. The Kenya Tree Coral relies less on the symbiotic algae within it, and depends more on obtaining outside food. Microplankton, marine snow, and dissolved materials should make up the bulk of its diet.

Suprise
yesterday I found a Kenya tree sticking out from underneath a rock. No idea how it got there or where it came from, the rock has been there since...well ever. And never has there been anything on it that remotely looks like a Kenya tree. Hope to get a picture of it soon.

Still growing bigger. It looks rather funny sticking out from underneath his rock trying to get some light.

Killing and Cleaning
I cut off the Kenya Tree located underneath the orange buttons. It was messing with the buttons too much. There is still a piece remaining, so I’m sure it will grow back. But till then the buttons can grow again, and by that time hopefully I don’t have any Kenya Tree fragments left.

A week in the life of…
Also the one which I had cut of because it was bothering the buttons is growing some new tentacles, so it will only be a matter of time when we have another new one here.
