Toadstool + Cabbage Leather Rock

Due to an unknown change in water values in the fragtank the toadstool and cabbage leather both died. At least the cabbage leather is still in the Red Sea Max 250 now where hopefully he will recover, but I don’t have high hopes for it.

I already had to rescue other corals from the Toadstool that was blown out of its tube. I decided to get a sharp plastic stick and put it through its foot. The stick I attached to the rock using a rubber band. Hopefully now the Toadstool will attach to the rock within a week or 2.

April 4 I noticed the Toadstool had torn partly from the stick. It does seem to be attached still, but obviously this doesn’t work to well either. Two days later I put a glass underneath his crown to support him, he still wasn’t attached and was leaning forward to much.

On March 16 I took a nice rock for the project from the sump and removed the crown of the Toadstool. Using a PVC tube that I cut in half and a couple of rubber bands I made a vase like construction on the rock where I want the Toadstool to attach.
The reason for cutting the PVC tube in half is that I can easily remove it when the toadstool has attached, just cut the rubber band and both halves fall from each other.
I used a sharp knife to cut the crown from the Toadstool and placed it in the PVC tube. Now all we can do is wait for it to attach to the rock.

The plan for this project is to create a rock like the one I had some time ago, a nice rock with a big Toadstool on it and a piece of Cabbage leather on the front. I already have a big Toadstool for this project.
